At the City of Knowledge schools we welcome all children to participate in learning so that they share experiences and contribute to each other’s development. The society of children in our schools is a social learning experience that adds value to the education of the whole child. This is why we encourage participation at all levels and we particularly want parents to become part of our experience. We value art, craft, language, history and science as platforms for dialogue between children and with adults.
We believe in preparing children to achieve higher and greater goals. This is why our emphasis is on literacy, numeracy and explorations. We want to instil creativity at a young age and we want to encourage a questioning mind. Only then will children excel and flourish to their full potential.
At the City of Knowledge schools we welcome suggestions and help from well-meaning people and organisations. We want support through feedback, curriculum development, industrial input and volunteers around sports and physical activities.
We go to a high extend to keep our children safe and yet free to develop. We instil in children the ability to make the best of difficult situations. We know of many children in our school come from struggling families and many of them will need to face of life of hard toil and deprivation. We therefore have no illusions as to what is needed to make our children robust and yet respectful and moral human beings.
